The Drop OffAround 500 m from the Wreck to the east, the underwater wall drops to a depth of 60m, the top of the wall is around 5 to 8 m. Visibility is usually better than at the wreck but sometimes there is a slight current. You will find a school of yellow strip snappers at around 18 to 25m. The giant sea fan is just right at the corner of the drop off. The barrel sponges are huge. Practice your observation skill to find the rare Laureia Siagiani, who lives among the sponges. Sometimes reef sharks cruising along the wall. Hammerhead sharks and Sun fish have been spotted several times at greater depth. On the other side there is a lagoon which is normally calmer and not subject to heavy surf, a great place to conduct initial training for beginner. Bali Dive Travel |
Paradise ReefSometimes called as Paradise Reef, this is full of surprises, ribbon ells, mimic octopus, boxer crabs, ghost pipefish, harlequin shrimp are among the unusual marine lives can be found here. Underwater photographers dive here more than 5 times a day and they still find a new critters and made this place so interesting and soon very popular. A generally shallow dive, from 3m down to 15m, although there are some interesting species like Steene's Dottyback which normally lives at the depth. Bali Dive Travel |
Batu KlebitTake a short ride in a traditional "Jukung" to the eastern of the drop off. As you enter the water descending to the depth of 30 metres to find the plateau. The submerge reef in this area may bring you up to 60 m and deeper. It is a great place to encounter the big pelagic such as Tunas, Sharks, Manta Rays and Barracudas. The Liberty ShipwreckWhile your diving trip in Bali, it's a must for diving here. This location is full with marine live as well as the crowded of schools of Jack. for the one who love to find some small critters and something unusual, the area offer varieties of it such as a frog fish, leaf fish, dragonet, and the pigmy seahoarse. few different types of Garden Ells.Surgeon Fish and Butterfly fish that will company you through out your dive. PetiNorth site of Menjangan, east of Budak Wreck, lays a slope of coral reef, and partial drop off in some area, abundant reef fish, such as Anthias, Butterfly Fish and Angel Fish. The dive is relatively easy and not deep. You will start from a traditional boat and "back roll" into the water before descending to around 15 to 25m. The structure of the shallow reef is also very beautiful with some white sandy bottom. Bali Dive Travel |
Budak WreckLocated east of POS I, the depth of the wreck starts at 35m and down to 50m. It is an old wreck (early 19th century), the history is not well documented. The wreck is full of "kind of metal plated" and schools of yellow strip snapper. Two resident white tip sharks are among the marine lives you'll probably see. Some artifacts left untouched. The wreck itself is not big, but it's deep, with normal air, you probably can explore the wreck in just 10 to 15 minutes, with the use of EANx (nitrox) is surely beneficial to extend the no deco time. Visibility is generally from 15 to 25m. Menjangan is a nature reserve and the only place to find this species of deer. If your lucky you could have a lunch companion. Bali Dive Travel |
Menjangan IslandPos I You can either start from the Jetty and swim to the east or from a traditional boat that drop you right in the channel between the main island and Menjangan. This dive sites is big, covering more than 60.000 m2 underwater lives, partial drop off, slope and flat area. Generally visibility is around 20m or better. You can expect to be companied by some friendly Bat Fish through out your dive. Sometimes there's some current in the channel, and that's the time when you have a chance to see some big pelagic, such as Tuna, some Dolphins (at the surface), and Whale Sharks. Generally the diving is relaxing and there are many things to see. The area near the Jetty is also excellent for training. Pos II You can swim either to the west or to the east. If you swim to the west, you will find underwater structure with some small cavern and drop off. The structure serves excellent natural framing for underwater photographer and videographer, with some silhouette from the sun penetrates the opening. You can also "play" hide and seek when exploring the caverns. Expect to see some pelagic and if you lucky, great Barracuda. To the east, there are more fishes to see, drop off, big gorgonians and sometimes current. At some shallow reef, you can find schools of jack fish. Secret BayLocated in front of the docking area of Gilimanuk Harbor . The area were recently discovered and soon becaming one of the very best dive site specially for Photographer and Videographer. Visibility is varying from 3 to 15m. This place is strictly dedicated for unusual and rare underwater critters seeker which are almost invisible small and well camouflage between the sea grass, the sand and some debris. Snake Eals , Sea Snakes, Cockatoo flounder, Juvenile Rabbit fish, varieties of Gobies, Frog Fishes, Dragonets, Nudibranch, Sea Hares and many more. If you are an Underwater Photographer or Video shooter , you may spend 2 hours bottom time, 3 to 4 dives a day and still find something new. This is a real paradise for an underwater footages.
